History

The Beaver Dam Offspring Study-Neurocognitive Aging Study builds up on work led by Karen J. Cruickshanks, the previous principal investigator of the Beaver Dam Offspring Study, a landmark research study funded by the National Institutes of Health, to investigate hearing, vision, and olfaction (sense of smell). The Beaver Dam Offspring Study invited children of participants in the Beaver Dam Eye Study and the Beaver Dam Epidemiology of Hearing Loss Study (Beaver Dam Eye Study and Epidemiology of Hearing Loss Study Brochure).

 

Beaver Dam Community

Beaver Dam is located in south-central Wisconsin on Beaver Dam Lake. It is located 40 miles northeast of Madison, 90 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, 90 minutes south of Appleton, and 2.5 hours north of Chicago.
